:iconwolf-sophie: mentioned Sarabi in my Nala - Queen of the Pridelands picture, and I felt a little guilty. Sarabi's one of my favorite characters from TLK (I was quite sad she wasn't in SP), especially when she's standing up to Scar at the end. So here you go. :3 Sarabi, the original queen of the Pridelands.

Sarabi has always been my favorite TLK character since the movie had come out. I never knew why, she was just really pretty or something lol. But now that I'm older I know it's because she's strong and brave. She stayed strong for her pride when she lost her mate and son in one day. Not to mention the "new members" of the pride. She could have run away, or just laid there until she passed herself. But she knew she couldn't do that. Mufasa wouldn't want her to. I am so getting too far into thought here lol.

She's an amazing character. I think it's a pity we don't get to see more of her ... I know it makes sense since she'd not more than a supporting character, but she has such a strong role and presence throughout the film. :) Sarabi wasn't one of my favorites as a child, but now that I'm grown, she's own of my favorites. Strangely, Mufasa was a favorite of mine when I was a kid ... and now he's one of my least favorite, lol. xD

I read somewhere that Sarabi wasn't shown in further movies due to the passing of her voice actor (Madge Sinclair). But yes, it would have been nice to see her in Part II, especially. :)

A couple people commented that awhile ago too; I hadn't realized that. :) It makes perfect sense to want to honor her memory and not find another voice actress.

Sarabi is my oen of my favourite characters from TLK also. I felt so sorry for her. Sarabi is a great queen I love her:)
