How many shades of green would you say you used?

Only about three here. x3 If you vary it more I think you get better results. :)

Did you ever fix your sensitivity?

Sadly no, I suppose my issue is simply that I don't have a tablet, so that's what I'm saving for! :P

Keep saving :) I bought my first tablet on Amazon for only $40 + $5 shipping (Bamboo Pen and Touch).

Did you right click on one of the empty squares around the other brushes? :3 You can add it to the brush list.

That's still not bad, lol. xD At least it's clear that you're doing it by hand rather than cheating and using the default photoshop brushes ... only a couple people on here seem to know how to use brushes really well. Whenever I do it, it looks awful, lol. x)

tbh if i knew how to make it look decent id use ps brushes. lol but since im a sai user i only use ps for touch ups lol. & the thing about that grass i dont like, is it seems like it has no body and no glow. but i see what yopu mean about putting effort in and doing it blade by blade :3

You could always do the grass in PhotoShop after you finish the basic drawing in SAI. :) I know some people do that. <3

Yup, I do most things on SAI. :) My lines are done with the pencil tool, anywhere from a size 3-5 typically. :3 I taper the edges of my lines with the eraser tool. <3

It's all just a matter of practice. :3 A lot of it. Try different things ... do you have a tablet? They take some getting used to with the pressure sensitivity.

You can adjust that in the tablet settings if you like to press harder or lighter. I always have to adjust mine because I press really hard on the tablet, it's just habit. <3

I've not got paint tool SAI but I'm going to get soon, I reckon I'll be rubbish at first because all these complicated programmes are hard to pick up, at least I'll be getting a graphics tablet along with it :D

A lot of those programs can be hard to get used to. If you have any questions let me know ... I know the bare-bones basics of SAI and PhotoShop. ;p So I know some things. A lot of it's just experimentation and seeing what works for you. :)

Tell me about it! :faint: It's so time consuming doing blade after blade :P I wish Sai had that smudge tool that Photoshop has that is so commonly used for grass. :P

It is. xD And I'm pretty sure SAI has a smudge/blur tool somewhere. oo I don't find PhotoShop any more helpful for grass than SAI, oy. xD

Ya, it does, I just wish sai had a dodge and burn tool and the finger blur tool that photoshop has, but I absolutely adore sai and won't go back to photoshop. :P
